Gary Ambrose

Gary Sidney Ambrose, 78, of Keaau died May 27, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 30, 1937, in Portland, Ore., he was a retired director for Church World Service, a real estate broker, member of Hui Okinawa and past Commodore of Hilo Yacht Club.

Friends may call at 10:30 a.m. June 3 at Alae Cemetery for a graveside committal service.

He is survived by wife, Carol Ambrose of Keaau; sons, Lance (Trisha May) Ambrose of Kapaau, Michael (Ricci) Bonahan of Kawaihae; daughters, Elizabeth Ambrose of Keaau, Mely Hennings of California; two grandchildren.

Eufemia Guillermo

Eufemia Quimoyog Guillermo, 54, of Hawi died May 21, 2106, at her home. Born on March 27, 1962, in the Philippines, she worked as a certified nurse’s aide before she became a homemaker.

Friends may call at 3 p.m June 3 at the family residence, 55-299 Opolu Airport Road in Hawi for a wake service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. June 4 at the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hawi for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial will follow at the Hawi County Cemetery. She is survived by husband, Gerry Guillermo of Hawi; mother, Donisia Quimoyog of the Philippines; daughters, Donna (Johnson Kahili) Guillermo of Hawi, Sheryll (Southip Noy Chanthasouvanh) Guillermo of Waianae, Oahu; brothers, Roger Quimoyog, Virgilio (Flora) Quimoyog, Leandro (Hazel) Quimoyog, all of Waianae, Oahu, Mando Quimoyog of Nanakuli, Oahu, Pablo Quimoyog of Honolulu; sisters, Nelia (Eduardo) Romualdo of Chicago, Emelyn (Mina) Castillo of Waianae, Oahu, Betty (Bernado) Tomboc of the Philippines; two grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donna Jensen

Donna May Jensen, 76, of Waimea died May 23, 2016, at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. Born May 1, 1940, in Honolulu, she retired as a civil service worker and a professional entertainer.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. June 4 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ward 2 in Waimea for an 11 a.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Arthur (Doreen) Jensen, Roy (Vanessa) Jensen, Rodney (Jill) Jensen, and Robin Jensen, all of Waimea; daughters, Kathy (Howard) Nishida, Kathy (Markus) Muller, all of Waimea, Kalani (John) Redmayne of California, and Dore-May (Teddy) Elmer of Utah; brother, Wayne Hopkins of San Diego; sisters, Piialoha Oliver and Wanda Kimseu, both of Oahu, Brucella Berard of Kailua-Kona; 29 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Patricia Anne Barcena Kawamura, 70, of Hilo died May 27, 2016, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 13, 1945, in Hilo, she was a retired substitute teacher.

Friends may call at noon June 6 at Moku Ola (Coconut Island) for a celebration of life. Casual attire is requested.

She is survived by son, Michael (Joy) Moniz of Hilo; daughters, Annamarie (Dean Ontiveros) Moniz of Las Vegas, Arnette (Manuel) Soares of Kauai; brothers, Joe (Sue) Barcena of Honolulu, Rod (Maria) Barcena of Washington State, and Abe (Diane) Barcena of Hilo; sisters, Millie Kiyan of Washington State, Rita Alcosiba of Fremont, Calif., Leona Valencia of Hilo, and Cindy Baring of Alabama; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one uncle, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
